Analog Record Player
Classic in form, sophisticated in technology: Consequence Audio‘s analog transport appeals through understatement. The sleek wooden frame is nothing but simple: It conceals a complex layer structure of different materials. The heavy frame including turntable, rotation bearing, and arm basis, is effectively decoupled from the ultra-dense plywood base plate through a 10-mm thick layer of natural rubber. The ingenious assembly hence invisibly combines a massive turntable mechanism and a vibration-damped chassis. The belt drive motor is attached to the base plate and has no contact to the frame. The synchronous motor receives its pure sine driving signal from an external power supply.
Heart of the transport is the 60-mm strong turntable, which is machined from solid aluminum. The largest part of its central volume is milled out and filled instead with a special vibration-damping resin, leaving a massive outer rim that holds 2/3 of the total table weight as effective centrifugal mass. The turntable reaches 10-mm below the outer frame level, and the precision bearing is elevated high into the table, so that its center of mass and the center of rotation fall together.
The result: Impeccable rumble-free rotation, no resonances, easy to set up! The Charade surprises musically: It sounds balanced and sovereign, and much ‚larger‘ than its comparatively modest dimensions would let you assume...
As a genuine Consequence Audio product, the Charade Analog Record Player is entirely handcrafted in Germany. The turntable is palladium-plated on request. The outer frame is masterfully finished in valuable European burl wood or piano lacquer. The large arm basis accepts all arms of 8.5 – 10.5 inches length.
