The development of the Monteverdi goes back to the special order of a passionate classics listener, who would name the prototype after his favorite composer. His request was of: |
Construction The equipment of the crossover network is uncompromisingly audiophile: For the midrange, designer Reinhard Gundlach selected an ultra-fast cone chassis from the Excel series of Norway’s specialist Seas. This unusual midrange driver features a copper phase plug, an ultra-light membrane, and uses six radially arranged neodymium magnets instead of a single ceramic magnet. The equally neodymium magnet-driven silk dome tweeter receives a special adjustment treatment for the Consequence Audio Pergolesi and Monteverdi speakers, which increases its sensitivity and extends its super high frequency range up to 40,000Hz. The 220-mm carbon woofer chassis and their passive radiator counterparts are special order items made in Germany exclusively for Consequence Audio. They achieve a lower cut-off frequency of less than 30 Hz. |
