Corelli |
The Corelli speakers fulfill highest expectations of audiophile connoisseurs and lovers of acoustic music. The exceptional musicality, clarity, and relaxed tonal balance of the Corelli speakers are outstanding and combine with thrilling dynamic and gripping verve. These extraordinary qualities are owing to Consequence Audio developer Reinhard Gundlach’s deep-rooted understanding of instruments and voices, as he is also actively performing Jazz vocalist and bandleader. Because they can deliver the emotional intensity of live performances, the speakers bear the name of Italian violin virtuoso and composer Arcangelo Corelli (1653-1713). The Corelli reveals subtlest overtones of acoustic instruments and finest vibratos in voices with bewitching beauty, rich in timbre and with natural tone colors. Equally at home in both Jazz and Classics, listening satisfaction is always guaranteed. |
Vibes, triangles and drums effortlessly explode just out of the blue. With its vivid impulsivity and astonishing command in the low bass range the Corelli renders double basses taut contour and an impressively deep foundation. The Corelli is entirely handcrafted in Germany, using utmost care and devotion in all stages of production. Befitting the exquisite sound quality, the enclosures are masterfully finished in luxurious burl wood. Their elegant slender design and delicate surface texture harmoniously blend the Corelli into their owner’s interior as sophisticated elements of acoustic furniture. Technical details The very rigid enclosures are structurally complex due to multiple internal anti-resonance stabilizations. Separate air-tight compartments are provided for the symmetric high/midrange, the woofer pair, and also the enormous frequency crossover network, which thus is completely protected from microphonic disturbances. The extremely elaborate low-loss network contains exclusive air cored high purity copper coils free of microphonic effects, even in the woofer branch, and Mundorf Supreme© foil capacitors of impeccable audiophile reputation. A worldwide rare impedance linearization achieves a very smooth impedance variation by eliminating strong resonance peaks at the crossover and bass-reflex frequencies. This critically improves the control of the speaker by amplifiers of low output power. Together with its high sensitivity (90 dB/2.83 V, 1 m) this qualifies the Corelli as an ideal combination partner for high-grade single ended vacuum tube and class-A transistor amplifiers.
